THE EASTER PLAY 2008
Princes Street Gardens
Saturday 22nd March 2.30pm – 5pm

What is the Background of the Play?

In the tradition of mystery plays, this play is an open-air
promenade performance, which means that the
audience move with the actors through different
locations within West Princes Street Gardens.

What 's the Story?

The play starts in the middle of the story of Jesus. He is
33 years old, and has been moving around Israel
teaching, healing and performing miracles as he goes.

As the play progresses, we see the tension mount and
plans unfold to destroy Jesus and his work. Jesus
carries on teaching despite growing opposition.

We see him with his Disciples in the Garden of Gethsemane
where Jesus must choose life or death; see him before the Priests of the time, then before Pilate. Entrance is free and there will be designated seating areas at each scene for the disabled.
